We will host our final Family Literacy Night of the school year in conjunction with the Stamford Public Education Foundation (SPEF). Volunteers will help with sign-in, serve dinner, then host literacy and school readiness activities for children attending Springdale school, along with their parents.  

JLSN will celebrate Earth Day by helping Toquam Magnet School, 123 Ridgewood Avenue in Stamford, with new plantings and spring clean up on Saturday, April 16th from 9:30–11:30 AM.

JLSN Members: Join us for our March GMM and Annual Placement Fair at the JLSN Office from 7:00–8:30 PM.

DIAD is partnering with United Way to support Kindergarten Information Night. JLSN volunteers will provide activities for kids ages 2-5 from 6–7:30 PM at Ferguson Library while their parents are informed about what to expect in Kindergarten.

Come celebrate St. Paddy’s day with MAC and represent JLSN in the Stamford St. Patrick’s Day Parade on March 5th! Join us just for the parade or for the day! Save Saturday morning for a wonderful training opportunity with JLSN’s Sustainers! We will discuss Issue Based Community Impact: What is it and why is this approach important? Walk through the steps to identifying community issues, topics, projects, and partners and learn how to measure results and successfully transition or terminate a project. Time/Location TBD.

Our Done in a Day volunteers will entertain seniors with some rousing games of BINGO! This annual event is always a hit with both the residents of Norwalk’s Elder House and our members. It will take place on Monday, February 22nd from 10:15 AM-Noon.

Our February Family Literacy Night is cancelled due to snow. Thank you to everyone who signed up to volunteer and we look forward to seeing you at a future Lit Night!

Our February General Membership Meeting will be held at the League Office on Thursday, February 18th at 7 PM.
