Ribbon Cutting Ceremony

Open Door Shelter and JLSN will celebrate the opening of Open Door Shelter’s revitalized Family Resource Center with a ribbon cutting ceremony at 4 Merritt Street in Norwalk, on October 28th from 4:30–5:30 PM.

Beginning in August, JLSN volunteers remodeled the existing Family Resource Center to provide children in the shelter with new workstations, a reading nook, and a fresh new space to read and learn, fully equipped with computers, books, and educational games. This evening is a celebration of JLSN and ODS’s partnership as well as their joint pursuit to improve opportunities for children from low-income families.

Following the Ribbon Cutting, JLSN volunteers will spend time reading and doing crafts with the children of Open Door Shelter in the first in a series of Family Literacy Nights.
